Save the Date: Nouveau Night, 11/21/24
In a normal year, we would have already harvested Leon Millot last week, the 1st grape to come out of our vineyard each year, and the grape we use to make our annual “Leon Nouveau” crafted in the tradition of French Beaujolais. But this year our Leon Millot crop was nearly decimated by the birds eating the berries (and in some cases stripping entire vines of their fruit) before we had our canons up and running for the season.
Not only does this mean we won’t have enough of this grape to make this year’s Leon Nouveau, but this is the grape we use to blend several of our bestselling wines including Hennepin Pink, and our two newest releases: Midsummer’s Daydream and Winter Reverie.
(Once these wines sell out, we may be looking at Spring 2026 or later before we can restock.)
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR FAN-FAVORITE EVENT: Nouveau Night?!
For the first year ever, our nouveau wine won’t be made from Leon Millot grapes, as we simply don’t have enough, but instead will be made from Pinot Noir!
While we’re obviously disappointed to lose so much of our harvest, and still uncertain what this means for the rest of our wines this season, we are so excited to experiment with the Noir this year to create our first ever batch of “PINOT NOUVEAU!”
In the face of adversity, we continue to do the only thing we know how: just. keep. growing. ![]()
And so the show must go on…
